Carlos Sastre: A Suitable Winner.

"There have been, there are and there will always be people who cheat, in cycling or in society in general. But there also are also people who work hard and honestly, far away from that."
-Carlos Sastre

After two consecutive years of numerous doping allegations and convictions, the 2008 Tour de France was in need of an honest winner. In my opinion, Carlos Sastre became that person today.

I admit that I didn't watch the Tour religiously every morning, and that I normally don't get too excited over professional athletes, even if they are cyclists, but Sastre deserves credit. This guy has paid his dues, and now at the age of 33, in sport where age only works against you, he has finally won the hardest, and most prestigious, race on there has ever been.

You're all right by me, Carlos.
