I was perusing CyclingNews.com today and I came across an interview featuring Dave Zabriskie. Nothing too unusual, he's going to China for some major pole vaulting competition or something. Anyways, while reading I stumbled across a big fat lie, yes, Cycling News lied. Take a look, and see if you can spot it:
"The 29 year-old [Dave Zabriskie] from Salt Lake City is the current U.S. time trial champion, a stage winner in all three Grand Tours and one of the best moustache growers on his Garmin-Chipotle team."
Did you see it? Probably not.
Dave Zabriskie isn't the only man on Garmin-Chipotle who can "rock a mustache," and the media frequently forgets this. Steve Cozza, who obviously has the better looking hirsute appendage, has been documented saying that he had a mustache before Dave. Still, Cozza never gets any credit for having a trend setting 'stache.
Also, what happened to objective journalism? Is Dave Zabriskie really the best mustache grower on the team, or is that someone's opinion? I don't remember any formal competition.
Check out the video below to see Steve Cozza's mustache. He talks about Dave Z at 3:03.

For the record, the interview said "one of the best" not "he is the best."
I have read several articles on different websites (velonews and Pez) that talk to Coza about his stache.
Yeah, you're right.
But!!! It's still opinion and fluff. The story would still be intact and fully communicated without it.
...And, most importantly, I just like Cozza's mustache better.
